Your Tears Move God!

The Lord gave me a beautiful revelation from the passage in John 20:1-16 that I am excited to share with you today! Mary Magdalene arrived first to the tomb after Jesus was placed there when it was still dark. She was broken and desperate about the events that unfolded on the cross just days before. She was desperate to see Jesus. She was broken to see His body was no longer there. She informed the disciples and Peter and John arrived, checked the tomb, saw that the body was no longer there, and then went home again. Verse 11 says, “BUT MARY STOOD OUTSIDE FACING THE TOMB, CRYING.”

I felt the Lord say that there are some of us looking at a dead situation and are broken and in tears. God wants us to know today that our TEARS MOVE GOD!!

Psalm 56:8 says, “You keep track of ALL my sorrows. You have collected ALL my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book.

Mary looked inside the SAME tomb that the two disciples had just checked but unlike them, she saw ANGELS!!! And then JESUS!! All three said this:

“WHY ARE YOU CRYING?”

In the sermon on the Mount, Jesus mentions in Matthew 5:4: ” “How blessed are those who MOURN, because IT IS THEY WHO WILL BE COMFORTED!”

God is moved by your tears! Your tears move the heart of God! Mary’s tears moved God enough to send two angels and Jesus to reassure her!! Wow! The disciples did not have this revelation that Mary did!!! Even though just moments ago they were at that very tomb! God reserved that special visitation for Mary because she was broken and desperate and her tears moved the heart of God!

I don’t know what rough phase you are in, but I believe with all my heart, that being broken before the Lord is a BEAUTIFUL place to be in!!! You will be COMFORTED. God will move Heaven on your behalf to comfort you and to come to your aide!!

Oh let those tears flow!!!

Am praying for you today that you encounter Him in a personal way in your hour of utter brokenness and desperation.
